Frequently Asked Questions

  • Aerial yoga uses a silk hammock suspended from the ceiling to support your body as you move, stretch, and strengthen. With this added support, you can safely deepen flexibility and explore new postures beyond the mat.

  • Aerial Yoga has all the benefits of a traditional yoga class. It is a complete mind-body practice.  The postures done in the hammock can also help you get a deeper stretch, relieve joint pressure and spinal compression, release tension, increase muscle tone, balance and proprioception, enhance core strength, improve breath awareness, and release endorphins.

  •  To support your safety and comfort in class:

    • Wear clothing that covers your underarms to help prevent fabric burns (“kisses”).

    • No jewelry, including rings, bracelets, or necklaces.

    • Grip socks are recommended for stability and hygiene. *available for purchase in studio*

    • No zippers, as skin may become caught during movement.

    • Please be mindful of long or sharp nails, as they may tear fabric or break during class.

  • For your safety, inversions are not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure, heart disease, eye conditions such as glaucoma, recent surgery, or spinal fusion.

If you have any of these conditions, please proceed slowly and conservatively, beginning with very light or modified inversions only. We strongly encourage you to consult your physician before participating in inversion-based practices.

Please speak with your instructor if you have questions or need modifications—we are here to support you.
